Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2011 collection for Louis Vuitton - - Can Be Best Described by Three G's Gloss, Glitter and Glamour

The three G's; gloss, glitter and glamour is how one can describe Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2011 collection for Louis Vuitton. The richness and the intricate detail that Louis Vuitton bring to their creations was very much on display here as well. Apart from the instant visual appeal the bags made a striking statement. Their bags have been designed for movement and there were several styles showcased but the show stopper came in the end, the Monogram Nova.

The show stopper comes at the end and fittingly Monogram Nova was reserved for the final look of the show. The extra ordinary bag was carried by 80′s supermodel Kristen McMenamy. Kristen has also starred in Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2011 campaign. The Monogram Nova has an unusual design. It is a tasseled spherical minaudière with the tassels waving along well below your knee as you walk.

The remarkable thing about the Nova is the monogram pattern picked out in black and silver Swarovski crystals. It is here that you see the craftsmanship of the Louis Vuitton ateliers. The precision and the perfection achieved by painstakingly applying each piece of crystal by hand. This unique ball of a clutch has been priced at US $35,500 but you will have to wait before you can own it as it will be released for sale in April 2011.
