There is a time and a place for everything; except eavesdropping. We’ve all done it once or twice, and most of the time just by mistake, as we’re not listening to music or busy at the time. In some professions, the possibility of being overheard needs to be eliminated, as you could lose your job over it. Places such as pharmacies and hospitals have to adhere to the principle of patient confidentiality, but can’t always promise the confidential part if they’re overheard.
Yamaha has created the VSP-1 Noise Generator to make all possibility for someone to listen in disappear. This little white box will play sounds such as a babbling river, forest, or “urban clutter” noises to overshadow what you’re saying for anyone who might be on the other side of the door. They’re a little bit pricey at $1200, but if you’re not willing to pay the price, you could always just use your inside voice.
