Barcelona are planning to appeal against a penalty and yellow card Lionel Messi. Sanctions imposed because Messi showed a happy birthday message to his mother in t-shirts in the game against Racing Santander, Sunday, January 23, 2011.

After a goal by a penalty, Messi then shows the message 'Happy Birthday, Mummy' to the front of the camera and a number of photographers on the sidelines. Action was missed from the penalty the referee, but the Competition Committee of La Liga Spanish remains out punishment.

Lionel Messi World Player of 2010


Lionel Messi was elected as the winner of the Ballon d'Or award as the FIFA World Player 2010. This is the success of the previous year streak Messi became the winner of the FIFA World Player of the Year title and also the winner of the Ballon d'Or.

This year, two titles were merged into one. Massey was elected to get rid of two other players who are both strengthen Barcelona, Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
