P/O Patrick McDonald, a member of the Philadelphia Police Department's elite Highway Patrol unit, was gunned down this afternoon in North Philadelphia. Two officers in total were shot, with one of them in stable condition. This marks the 2nd Philly Cop in two weeks, the 3rd in four months, the 4th in less than a year, and the 5th in the last 2 1/2 years to be killed in the line of duty.
