Off topic for a blog focused on photography, but this rant is probably something many of you can relate to. We've all received emails from associates that ramble on forever, never getting to the point or purpose of sending the messsage in the first place.
Unfortunately, we've become too lazy to formulate our thoughts before we start typing an email. Recently, I've noticed the situation is getting worse, as many of us are relying more on our blackberrys or smartphones as our primary communication device. With the small screen of a blackberry, those emails that contain big blocks of run-on sentences with no paragraph breaks make it almost impossible for the reader to easily decipher the key points of the message.
It's more important today that "senders" of email be concise and compose their messages or content for the "small screen". Make Your Point Fast (MYPF). Make sure your message doesn't require your recipient(s) to scroll endlessly down the page to get to your conclusion, recommendation, or request. This is something we all can improve on, and it'll save our IT folks precious hard drive space to boot!
