The “Fame Kills” tour with Kanye West and Lady Gaga may not go on, but the female pop singer will continue on without her rap counterpart.
"We mutually decided to cancel the tour. He's going to take some time off, but I'm not," the 23-year-old Gaga said at the Billboard Women in Music function Friday. She accepted the “Rising Star,” according to the Associated Press.
She said the decision was well thought out and included the promoter of the tour.
She said, “Kanye and I talked about it. We talked about it a lot, as well as with Live Nation.”
West suggested that he would take a break from music in an interview with late-night host Jay Leno after he disrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the Video Music Awards. West thought Beyonce should have won the honor for best female video.
West told Leno, “So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve.”
Lady Gaga’s new tour will begin mid-November.
