Interview with the King of Greenville
Haro Bikes rider Dennis Enarson came to Greenville, North Carolina with no expectations and drove out of town in a new car with a new dirt bike in the back. With probably the least amount of practice and late nights on the town, Dennis was in no shape to win a comp of this level, but he killed it for the love of BMX and put of one hell of a show.
CM: So Dennis you came to Greenville for Mirra's comp at his personal park, with a Subaru WRX up for 1st place, What was your thoughts on the event, being that its the local park for most of the guys in the competition?
DE: I knew it was gonna be crazy with a bunch of the best riders in the world, and most of them it's their local park, sending themselves for a sick car. And I was right because it was prolly the wildest jam ever!
CM: You only rode the park for a few hours for 2 days before the event and Qualified first into the final(Earned a Yamaha dirt bike), Did the park have some ramps you were into?
DE: Ya the ramps were sick. All big and perfect. I prolly would have rode there before hand if I knew it was such a fun set up.
CM: People were saying possibly the best trick done all weekend was the boost off the jersey barrier(probably 9ft), it was your intro on both days and I saw Dave Voelker come straight over and tell you it was sick, It must be sweet having the old school crew there and having a legend like Dave Voelker get pumped for you?
DE: That was definitely one of the coolest thing all weekend for me having all the old school guys come up, especially Voelker and tell me how sick the thought the hip boost was. Those are definitely the sickest dudes in BMX because they are the originators and it feels awesome getting complements from them.
CM: Any stand out's (riders of tricks) for the event in your eyes?
DE: Everybody there was insane from Mike Miller to Mike Laird. But Nyquist to me was the stand out! He did everything. It was cool being able to ride in the same jam as him!
CM: What made you think you could double-whip into that vert wall to end the 20 minute Jam?
DE: I don't know it seemed like it would feel sick to pull it I guess haha.
Thanks Dennis, and Congratulations once again..
